An infinity pool is also known as negative edge, zero edge or vanishing edge pool. It is a pool where water flows at more than one edge. The water of the pool produces waves and produces a visual effect of water without boundary.

In the infinity pool it seems that as if water from the edge merges with a larger body of water like as in ocean or with the skies. This type of pool are designed in exotic resorts and some estates as well as in some picnic spots for the recreation of public.

WORKING MECHANISM OF INFINITY POOL:

When the pool is constructed the edge of the pool terminates at a weir which is 1/16 to ¼ inch a level lower than the actual pool level. Now a trough is build below the weir, this trough help in producing waves in the pool. The wave effect is formed when water spills into the catch basin and from here it is pumped back into the pool. These pools give the effect as the pool has no edge and it is extended till the horizon. The illusionary effect produced is so genuine that it feels that if water is actually falling into the ocean or bay.
