Paving stones are basically a tile, stone, brick or brick-like pieces made of concrete and often used as flooring for the exteriors of your house. They are adaptable and long-lasting and look best in a yard or a patio or walkway. You can customize the design according to your liking from a low-key one to a dramatic one. They are quite easy to install but requires some planning for correct installation.
Before you decide to install paving stones it is mandatory to have a good plan. Make sure that there is adequate drainage by seeing that it slopes away from the house or any other structure. Pavers come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors, so you can choose one that suits your budget as well as one that looks attractive and complements the structure of your house. In case your design is a little extensive or has a lot of curves then you will have to get extra pavers as they need to be cut according to the design. You can select a fancy outline to give a graceful look to your yard. The base material needs to be crushed stones with irregular edges for a strong compact base otherwise it can ruin the paving stone design.
Finally when all the pavers have been installed a plate compactor should be run over them repeatedly to see that they are pressed snuggly into the sand. The pavers are then sealed with a sealing product for durability and a longer life and the joints are filled with sand to give an even look.
